P ony Racing is the grassroots of racing, and has been the platform to catapult names such as Harry Cobden, Rachael Blackmore, Sam Twiston-Davies and Jack Tudor into exciting careers in the professional ranks. At The Jockey Club we are passionate about supporting the initiatives led by the Pony Racing Authority and actively organise Pony Racing days at our racecourses
to encourage young people to be involved in our sport. From educational talks about the history of our sport to learning the ways of the Weighing Room, the days offer a wide range of topics to showcase the opportunities on offer within horseracing. The day concludes with two pony races to put all that the children have learnt into action.
