B lenheim Palace International Horse Trials (BPIHT) is one of Britain’s most iconic events. grounds, with views of the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside, the horse trials have something for everyone. With four days of world-class eventing action, including dressage, cross country and show jumping, Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials showcases the highest-quality sport, with old champions and future champions taking part. Nestled in the heart of the Palace Household names such as Pippa Funnell, William Fox-Pitt and Laura Collett have all competed at the event in the past, and have used it as a stepping stone for their world-class horses. For example, the 2018 CCI4*-S winner, Laura Collett’s London 52, went on to take home Olympic Gold in the team eventing at the
excellence, as there is plenty of action taking place off the course, too. From the family entertainment in the Ben & Jerry’s Arena to the fast and furious Shetland Pony Grand National, there won’t be a moment when you’re left searching for something to do. Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials provides the perfect day out or weekend away for families, friends and groups. The campsite is just a short walk from the main event site, where you can soak up the exhilarating eventing action, from the precision of dressage to the excitement of the cross-country. But there are plenty of other things going on at Blenheim, from falconry, gundog, mounted police and BMX displays to a family fun zone, including Sam’s Funky Fun inflatables, dog agility and lots, lots more, all taking place against the iconic backdrop of Blenheim Palace. Plus, under 18s can attend Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials for free. Tokyo Olympics, as well as winning the Badminton 5* event earlier this year. More recently, 2021 was a vintage year for Yasmin Ingham and the mighty Banzai Du Loir. The young rider showed nerves of steel to hold on to her impressive lead established in the dressage phase – a remarkable performance by the tenacious partnership to win the CCI4*-L. In April this year, the pair travelled to the US to compete in the Kentucky Three-Day Event – Banzai’s five-star debut – and pulled off a brilliant result when they finished second behind Michael Jung on FischerChipmunk FRH. Yasmin, along with Laura Collett, Tom McEwen, Ros Canter and Oliver Townend, then went on to compete at the World Equestrian Games in Italy as Team GB.
