FESTIVAL ARTS STUDIO 31 st Annual

Saturday, June 7 Heritage Community Park The Irvine Fine Arts Center hosts the 31st annual Studio Arts Festival. This juried festival will showcase Southern California artists and their original works of art in ceramics, sculpture, jewelry, painting, photography, fiber, and glass. The festival is an excellent opportunity to find unique, handmade crafts. Admission and parking are free.

Dear Friends,

This summer, the Irvine arts scene offers a dynamic array of enriching opportunities for artists and art enthusiasts alike. We’re proud to present Great Park Gallery’s Journey Through the Maze: 45 Years of PAC-MAN , an immersive exploration of the cultural and visual evolution of this iconic game. Meanwhile, the Irvine Fine Arts Center hosts Irvine Annual , formerly known as All Media , now in its 41st year. This juried exhibition celebrates a diverse spectrum of emerging and established artists, offering an insightful look into current trends and creative practices. Mark your calendar for exhibitions at City Hall this summer, see Page 10 for details! For teen creatives, we’re offering skill-building workshops this season with a Sewing Workshop — an engaging, hands-on experience in textile arts, emphasizing both sewing machine techniques and basic pattern making — and Culinary Workshop: Bento Box, which is perfect for those who love to express themselves through food. Our adult programming expands this summer with specialized offerings designed to deepen artistic proficiency. The Intermediate Darkroom Photography course provides an opportunity for intermediate photographers to dive deeper into traditional photo techniques and refine their skills. Additionally, our Pasta Baking class invites participants to explore the culinary arts, where you’ll learn to craft delicious homemade pasta dishes from scratch. Be sure to mark your calendar and take advantage of these dynamic opportunities to expand your creative horizons. Stay connected to receive timely updates on upcoming exhibitions, programs, and events by joining our mailing list at artsinirvine.org or follow us on social media @artsinirvine.

Creatively yours,

Interiors of MCAS El Toro Irvine City Hall Exhibition: June 9–August 1 In 2003, a group of six photographers set out to document the transition of Marine Corps Air Station El Toro into the Great Park. This team of photographers, branded as The Legacy Project, captured more than 400,000 photographs. Interiors of MCAS El Toro showcases a selection of these images, focusing on abandoned interior spaces. Between the six photographers — Jerry Burchfield, Mark Chamberlain, Jacques Garnier, Rob Johnson, Douglas McCulloh, and Clayton Spada — the retrospection of MCAS El Toro was artistically captured, archiving an essential piece of the region’s modern history.

Greg Price: Smooth Ripple Irvine City Hall

Opening Reception: August 14, 2–4 p.m. Exhibition: August 14–December 12

Since 2013, Irvine-based artist Greg Price has been pushing the boundaries of sculpture by utilizing extreme temperatures to manipulate glass. Price’s process results in weightless moments of 3D form suspended in time and space, giving viewers the chance to experience a familiar material in an unfamiliar way. Greg Price: Smooth Ripple profiles the artist’s processes, tools, and concepts through showcasing a series of colorful wall-mounted glass sculptures.
