In partner- ship with its national and international networks, 300 civic service and European Solidarity Corps projects are organised. Solidarités Jeunesses is a non-formal-edu- cation movement that promotes peace-building. Staff, board members and volunteers have created a working group to consider and exchange good practices on the topic of eco-friendly practices in the context of its inter- national workcamp activities.

Description: VEFAs provide young people aged 18 to 25 with the opportunity to complete a year-long volunteering placement in Germany, with a view to acquiring environmental protec- tion skills while learning or improving their German. The scheme is funded by the ministries responsible for youth in the two countries.

It is an association for sustainable interpersonal devel- opment based on mutual and continuous intercultural learning. The association develops projects and activities around intercultural exchanges in direct connection with local situations and in partnership with social centres, schools, associations and socio-cultural institutions. These activities focus on various issues such as educa- tion, social inclusion and ecology. They aim to develop the intercultural sensitivity of the public. The profiles of the participants are very diverse, with the majority of projects targeting young people with fewer opportuni- ties for mobility. UTC maintains partnerships with French and foreign institutions in Germany, Algeria, Armenia, Bosnia-Her- zegovina, Italy, North Macedonia, Morocco, Tunisia, Türkiye, Russia and many other countries, with whom projects are jointly designed, respecting the principle of exchange and reciprocity.

In France, Eurodesk works with the Youth Informa- tion network with CIDJ (the national Youth Information Centre) as National Coordinator in Paris, and more than 140 contact points working in youth information organisations at regional and local levels throughout the country. They also advise on green volunteering or how to participate in a youth exchange or workcamp with an ecological focus.

Description: Located in the middle of nature, the hosting centre Le Créneau provides a natural, well preserved and rich biodiversity that is home to various remarkable species, which deserve to be protected and valued, including bats, owls, mice, bugs, frogs, etc. During the international camp volunteers learn and help preserve so-called “undesirable” species and help raise aware- ness of the part they play in the local ecosystem. The activities are in accordance with Sustain- able Development Goals 5 and 12 of the UN (gender equality, responsible consumption and production).
