The Newsletter Is Back!
A New Year of Smiles, Service, and Success
As we settle into 2025, we’re thrilled to be back with our newsletter, keeping in touch with all of you — our wonderful patients and extended dental family! This year marks my fourth year as a practice owner, and what a journey it has been! Transitioning from an associate to leading a practice has been challenging and rewarding, but one thing remains constant: our commitment to delivering exceptional care with a personal touch. Over the past few years, we’ve made great strides in improving our practice — we welcomed new team members, refined our processes, and continued to invest in the latest dental technology. Our team is stronger than ever, and we are all aligned in our mission to provide top-tier patient care. From the moment you call our office to the second you walk through our doors, every team member is dedicated to making your experience seamless and comfortable. One of the biggest advancements in our practice is Preview Technology (PreVu), which allows patients to see a digital simulation of their potential smile makeover within minutes. If you’re thinking about braces or considering a cosmetic dental
procedure, we can now show you exactly what your new smile could look like before making any decisions. It’s just one of the many ways we’re using cutting- edge technology to enhance patient care. I’m also proud to announce our practice is growing in more ways than one! We’re celebrating some exciting family milestones within our team — two of our hygienists, Laura and Kelly, recently welcomed beautiful babies into the world! Kelly has already returned from maternity leave, and we’re so happy to have her back caring for our patients. Also, Genesis, an important member of our front desk team, is on maternity leave, and we can’t wait to welcome her back when the time comes. We believe in treating our team like family, and seeing our work family expand fills us with joy. Our goal is to create a warm, welcoming environment not only for our team but also for every patient who walks through our doors. Many of you know that in addition to running my practice, I proudly serve in the U.S. Army. Two years ago, I was honored to be promoted to major. This May, I’ll be away for military training, but I have complete confidence in Dr. Sayroo and our incredible team to ensure our patients continue to receive the highest quality care in my absence. Serving both my country and my community has been an incredible journey, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to give back in both roles. As we move into the year, I am excited for the growth ahead — not just for our practice, but for our team, our patients, and our extended community. We’re committed to making 2025 our best year yet! We look forward to seeing you at your next visit and catching up with all that’s happening in your lives. Thank you for being a part of our journey!

ORAL CANCER AWARENESS The Quick & Painless Screening That Could Make All the Difference
DID YOU KNOW?
become larger problems. We highly recommend that every patient undergo this screening at least once a year. And here’s something many people don’t realize: Even if you wear dentures or no longer have natural teeth, you should still get screened for oral cancer. The soft tissues in your mouth, gums, and throat are just as important to check as your
teeth. So, if it’s been a while since your last visit, this a friendly reminder to schedule a screening.
According to the Oral Cancer Foundation, about 58,500 people will be diagnosed with oral cancer this year — that’s a large number! Oral Cancer Awareness Month is here, and if there’s one thing we take seriously at our practice, it’s making sure our patients are always screened for early signs of oral cancer. Whether you’re a brand-new patient or a longtime member of our Newman Springs Dental Care family, routine cancer screenings are a top priority during every hygiene visit. You may not think about oral cancer often, but early detection is important. That’s why we use Velscope, an advanced screening tool designed to detect abnormalities in the mouth that aren’t always visible to the naked eye. This simple, non- invasive screening takes just a few minutes and can help identify potential concerns before they
Not every dental office offers Velscope screenings, but we believe in giving our patients the best preventive care possible. So, next time you’re in, ask about Velscope! A quick screening today could make all the difference tomorrow. Common warning signs of oral cancer include: • Persistent sores • Lumps • Red and white patches in the mouth, • Difficulty swallowing • Chronic hoarseness • Unexplained mouth pain If you notice any of these symptoms lasting more than two weeks, don’t wait! Call our office right away for an evaluation. Your health matters, and we’re here to help keep you smiling — safely and confidently. See you at your next appointment!
DECLUTTER YOUR ENTRYWAY TIPS TO MASTER THIS ALL-IMPORTANT SPACE
In many ways, your front entryway is your home’s command center. It’s where some of your most precious possessions reside and the first thing guests see when they visit. Unfortunately, it can also be your home’s most cluttered and disorganized space, leading to everything from desperate, already-late-for-work dashes to find your car keys to pets looking at you quizzically as you embark on a scavenger hunt for their leashes. Here are two quick tips to clear up that all-important space and save you from hustling to find those items that always seem to vanish whenever you need them. Stop the Shoe Stack If your front entryway typically looks like a sneaker factory hit by a tornado, the first step is to get all that footwear — especially if it’s wet or muddy —
out of your way and into easily accessible locations. You can utilize baskets or shelves to organize those items by person and even assign each area a name or number to help family members (or guests) find them without hassle. The same goes for gloves, hats, scarves, socks, boots, umbrellas, and other weather- specific attire. If your entryway space is minimal, consider adding hooks and shelves to a nearby wall to keep these essentials — plus purses, keys, and other daily accessories — in one spot. Best of all, everyone will know where to place certain items instead of dropping one glove in the living room and another in the kitchen. Imagine that! Perfect the Pet Parent Playbook Of course, you also need to keep things neat for your beloved animal companions. Leashes, pet clothing, and waste scoopers should also have designated spaces in your reorganizing entryway. Storing your pet essentials in a dedicated place will be especially helpful when your furry friends wake you up in the middle of the night so you can take them outside to do their business. From making a great first impression to keeping tasks convenient for your family, a decluttered front entryway is one of the best and most practical gifts you can give your home.

CAPTURE NATURE’S BEAUTY LIKE A PRO Quick Tips for Better Outdoor Photos
Consider Composition In photography, composition is key. When taking nature photographs, apply compositional rules such as the rule of thirds (placing subjects off-center), leading lines (guiding the eye with pathways or rivers), and framing (using natural elements to highlight the subject). Experimenting with different perspectives and angles can also add depth to your photos. Be Respectful Whenever you’re out in the field, respect the environment by following local guidelines, maintaining a safe distance from wildlife, and minimizing your impact on natural habitats. Always stay on designated paths and never remove any natural objects. Following a few simple rules protects wildlife and the landscape and maintains the integrity of your photography. With these tips in mind, you’re ready to enjoy the outdoors while capturing images that reflect the beauty of the natural world.
Nature photography offers a great way to get outside and capture the beauty of the natural world. Whether you’re new to this hobby or have been snapping photos for years, you can always enhance your skills with these four tips for producing compelling outdoor photos. Plan Ahead Before heading outside with your camera and other gear, research your chosen location and the subject you aim to photograph. Understanding the local wildlife, plant life, and weather conditions can inform your equipment selection. Timing is also key. Early morning and late afternoon, known as the “golden hours,” offer soft, diffused light that enhances natural scenes. Master Your Equipment Be sure to familiarize yourself with your camera’s settings. Some of the most important include aperture, shutter speed, and ISO, which control exposure and depth of field. For instance, a wide aperture (low f-stop) can help create a shallow
depth of field and isolate your subject from the background, which is particularly effective for wildlife photography. Conversely, a narrow aperture (high f-stop) is ideal for landscape shots because it increases the depth of field and helps keep more of the scene in focus.
