As part of our recruitment efforts, representatives from SaskEnergy attended various career fairs and events that support diversity hiring in 2023-24, including the Great Plains College career fair, the Regina Open Door Society career fair, the Nawigizigweyas Education Centre’s career fair, the “Try a Career Day” events in Balgonie and Moose Jaw, the Treaty 4 career fair, and the Saskatchewan Polytechnic career fair in Saskatoon. In addition, we provided support to employees who are working their way through the Saskatchewan Immigration Nominee Program and developed a resource page on our corporate intranet where employees can access information related to applying for positions, including how to write cover letters and resumes, as well as interviewing tips for employees and managers. Offering networking opportunities for employees to come together and collaborate is another way in which we promote an inclusive work environment. In 2023-24, a Women’s Network was introduced to support and enhance women’s experiences at SaskEnergy. We also have a company-wide youth network, Generation Energy (Gen-E), which is led by employees aged 35 and younger. Gen-E provides leadership and involvement opportunities to younger employees while also engaging and connecting employees across the company to strengthen our culture. Our SAGE committee, led by Indigenous employees, provides leadership in promoting the success and well- being of our Indigenous team members throughout Saskatchewan, and in sharing and celebrating Indigenous culture with staff. SaskEnergy’s Joint Diversity and Inclusion Committee recognizes and celebrates the diversity of our workforce by sharing information, hosting activities for employees, and assisting in corporate recognition of various days of significance.
