STREET ART For the past two years, Oklahoma City has been named the nation’s best city for street art by USA Today . New compositions and the freshest works can be found just around the corner, literally. The explosion of street art in OKC over the last several years has drawn local and top international street artists. Murals can be found just about everywhere. Each district has its fair share. You can find them along the Bricktown canal, in our underpasses, adorning businesses, and beautifying back alleyways. The Plaza District even has a curation of murals by rotating artists named the Plaza Walls. Beyond murals, you will find beautiful sculptures and engaging interactive public art installations punctuating the urban landscape. You never have to look far to experience the local expression of our vibrant creative community.

STUDIO ARTISTS While almost every district across the city is home to practicing studio artists, nowhere in the metro are there more studio artists and artist galleries concentrated in one place than in the Paseo Arts District. Here you can meet and interact with artists in their studios and galleries. You can even score some of your own studio time through one of the many classes available across a variety of mediums. The Paseo Arts & Creativity Center serves as a working studio for several artists throughout the metro, in addition to being a gallery for juried exhibitions by Oklahoma artists. Exploring the more than 20 galleries housed in the district’s iconic Spanish Revival architecture is a sure way to get your own creative juices flowing. Diving into a First Friday Gallery Walk is the best way to soak in the Paseo vibe. Be inundated by art, music and the aroma of culinary arts as they overflow into the streets as most of the studios, galleries and restaurants stay open late on the first Friday of every month.
