i. Large and small trees shall have a maximum spacing of 25 feet at installation, and shall alternate along the length of the buffer.
B. Shrubs . Small shrubs shall have a maximum spacing of 10 feet at installation.
(6) Exception for the Single-Family . The provision of Article O Landscaping & Tree
Protection Standards, §9-1713 Landscaping for Adjacent Uses & Streets, shall not apply to single-family, two-family (duplex) and three-family (triplex) residential developments related to landscaping between adjacent lots within such residential developments.
(7) Landscape Design & Clustering . This Article is designed to provide parameters for the design and installation of landscaping. The Town of Fuquay-Varina encourages the design of the landscaping to encompass creativity, offers variety, appearance and imagination, and introduces a theme for a proposed development that meets the overall intent and purpose of the standards herein identified. (8) Landscaping, Buffers & Screening . The following Table provides the land use class by proposed use and required perimeter buffer yard and street buffer required, to be provided with the submittal of a site plan, preliminary subdivision plat or phased development plan. (9) Exception for Residential Lot Frontage on a Street. Pedestrian-oriented streetscape buffers shall be allowed in lieu of standard landscaped street buffers when rear-loaded residential fronts onto a street. Pedestrian-oriented streetscape buffer shall contain both hardscape elements (such as but not limited to sidewalks, decorative lighting, street furniture, and fountains) and street tree plantings every 40’ which do not have to meet typical street width or buffer classification.
