(5) ELECTRIC POWER FACILITIES. The term defining the principal use of land for substations, transformers, and cross-country transmission lines.
(6) ELECTRIC VEHICLE (EV) . An automotive-type vehicle for on-road use, such as passenger automobiles, buses, trucks, vans, neighborhood electric vehicles, and electric motorcycles, primarily powered by an electric motor that draws current from a building electrical service, electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE), a rechargeable storage battery, a fuel cell, a photovoltaic array, or another source of electric current. (7) ELECTRIC VEHICLE SUPPLY EQUIPMENT (EVSE). The conductors, including the ungrounded, grounded and equipment grounding conductors, and the EV connectors attachment plugs, and all other fittings, devices, power outlets, or apparatuses installed specifically for the purpose of transferring energy between the premises wiring and the EV. (8) ELECTRONIC SWEEPSTAKES GAMING OPERATION. Any business enterprise, whether as a principal or accessory use, where persons utilize electronic machines, including but not limited to computers and gaming terminals, to conduct games of chance including sweepstakes, and where cash, merchandise, or other items of value are redeemed or otherwise distributed, whether or not the value of such distribution is determined by electronic games played or by predetermined odds. Electronic gaming operations may include, but are not limited to, internet cafés, internet sweepstakes, electronic gaming machines/operations, or cybercafés. This does not include any lottery approved by the State of North Carolina or any nonprofit operation that is otherwise lawful under state law (for example, church or civic organization fundraisers). For purposes of this definition a nonprofit may or may not be required to possess a valid 501 (c) (3) certification as provided by the Internal Revenue Service.
(9) ELEVATED BUILDING (Flood Damage Prevention). The term defining a non- basement building which has its lowest elevated floor raised above ground level by foundation walls, shear walls, post, piers, pilings, or columns.
(10) ELEVATION DRAWING. The term defining a scaled architectural drawing or rendering which illustrates the exterior features, materials, and coloration of a building (front, side, and rear). This term also includes an exterior wall of a building not along a “Frontage Line”. See also, FACADE .
(11) ENCROACH. The term defining a break in the plane of a vertical or horizontal regulatory limit with a structured element extending into a setback, into the public frontage, or above a height limit.
