(45) RUNOFF VOLUME MATCH (Stormwater Management). Means the same as defined in 15A NCAC 02H .1002(44).
s. (1) SAFE . The term defining a condition, that is not likely to do harm to humans or to real or personal property. (2) SALON/SPA . A facility dedicated to the treatment of the hair, face, or nails employed by licensed professionals and as defined in NC GS Chapter 88B. If a salon is a home occupation, it shall follow the use standards found in Article F §9-1255, p. Miscellaneous Use, (4) Home Occupation. A salon does not include any use as described in NC GS Chapter 90. This term shall also include BEAUTY SHOP and BARBERSHOP. (3) SALVAGE CUT (Clear Cutting/Tree Protection). The term defining the harvesting of dead or damaged trees or trees in danger of being killed by insects, disease, flooding or other factors in order to save economic value. (4) SALVAGE YARD (Flood Damage Prevention). The term defining any nonresidential property used for the storage, collection, and/or recycling of any type of equipment, and including but not limited to vehicles, appliances and related machinery.
(5) SANITARY LANDFILL. The term defining the disposal facility employing an engineered method of disposing of solid waste on land in a manner that minimizes environmental hazards.
(6) SANITARY SEWER . The term defining a plant, system, facility, or property used or having the present capacity for future use in connection with the collection, treatment, purification, or disposal of waste sewage from residential and nonresidential use including but not limited to treatment plants, pump stations, interceptors, manholes and all necessary appurtenances and equipment, all properties, rights, easements, and franchises related thereto and deemed necessary for the safe operation thereof, and including but not limited to private septic tank systems or other on-site collection or disposal facilities or systems. This definition includes the terms “wastewater” and “sewage.” (7) SCHOOL FOR THE ARTS. A school where classes in the various arts (dance, painting, sculpting, signing, instrumental music, acting, etc.) are taught to four (4) or more persons at a time.
