(10) VEHICULAR CANOPY. A roofed, open, and drive-through structure designed to provide temporary shelter for vehicles and their occupants while making use of business services or transaction. (11) VELOCITY (Erosion & Sedimentation Control). The term defining the average velocity of flow through the cross section of the main channel at the peak flow of the storm of interest. The cross section of the main channel shall be that area defined by the geometry of the channel plus the area of flow below the flood height defined by vertical lines at the main channel banks. Overload flows are not to be included for the purpose of computing velocity of flow. (12) VENDING MACHINE. The term defining an unattended self-service device that, upon insertion of a coin, tender or token, or by similar means, dispenses anything of value, including food, beverages, goods, wares, merchandise or services.
(13) VENTILATION (Minimum Housing). The term defining the process of supplying and removing air by natural or mechanical means to or from any space.
(14) VERTICAL MIXED-USE . The term defining a development type wherein at least the first floor of the building consists of nonresidential uses and at least one (1) upper story contains residential uses. Nonresidential uses do not include uses which only serve the dwelling units, such as a private recreation facility or a business center for residents.
(15) VIOLATION. The term defining the failure of a structure, development or use to be fully compliant with the regulations of the Land Development Ordinance.
(16) VIOLATION (Flood Damage Prevention). The term defining the failure of a structure or other development to be fully compliant with the community’s floodplain management regulations. A structure or other development without the elevation certificate, other certifications, or other evidence of compliance required in Article I Environmental Protection Standards of the Land Development Ordinance, is presumed to be in violation until such time as that documentation is provided. w.
