§9-3017 BUILDING CONFIGURATION
The three-dimensional form of a building, includes the form and materials of roofs, walls, and openings, creates the building configuration, determined in compliance with this Section.
a. General
(1) Buildings on corner lots shall have two private frontages as shown in Figure – Frontages & Elevations.
(2) All facades shall be glazed no less than 15% of the first story. All non-residential uses shall be glazed with clear glass no less than 60% of the first story facades facing a right-of-way. (3) Building heights and setbacks shall conform to Table – Residential Mixed-Use (RMU) Standards, Table – Commercial Mixed-Use (CMU) Standards and Table – Employment Mixed-Use (EMU) Standards. (4) In a parking structure or garage, each above-ground level counts as a single story regardless of its relationship to habitable stories; unless otherwise restricted or regulated by the North Carolina State Building Code. (5) The height limits of these regulations shall not apply to a church spire, belfry, cupola, and dome or ornamental tower not intended for human occupancy, monument, water tower, observation tower, transmission tower, chimney, smokestack, conveyor, radio, or television tower, mast or aerial, parapet wall not extended more than three (3) feet above the roof line of the building, and necessary
