Resident Learning SCHEDULE
Within the Department of Anesthesiology, we believe that the clinical learning environment is a dynamic and interactive space where diverse factors intersect to shape educational outcomes. We embrace modern educational strategies and innovative teaching methods, empowering residents and students to learn and grow in an ever-evolving environment.
Clinical Vignette Discussions A collection of clinical cases, prepared in our Multimedia Lab as interactive presentations. These resident-led discussions are facilitated by selected members of the faculty. In addition, we conduct a monthly research seminar led by Dr. Simon Body and a “Life Outside of Medicine” series led by Dr. Karolina Brook.
Tuesday 6:30-7:00am
Question Sets A review of ABA-style questions based on the topic of the month. In preparation for this exercise, residents take a quiz deployed using our digital content platform.

Wednesday 6:30-7:00am
Ultrasound School Held in the Solomont Simulation Center, Ultrasound School provides residents and students with the opportunity to develop ultrasound- based diagnostic and procedural skills.
Thursday 6:30-7:00am
Faculty Lectures Lectures are delivered by our faculty with audience participation, focusing on topics in concert with the monthly cirriculum. The goal of this style of lecture is to foster an inquisitive approach and exchange of ideas.
Friday 6:30-7:30am
Grand Rounds Following regular Friday faculty lectures, visiting faculty and visiting professors are invited to deliver a lecture on a burning topic related to our specialty.
We recognize the challenges our trainees face, and we strive to equip them with the skills necessary to excel. Our educational framework places medical students and residents at the core of our program’s success. Trainees are vital members of our Department, and we are dedicated to providing an outstanding learning environment that fosters their professional development.

Monthly Clinical Simulations Once a month, residents and students gather in BMC’s Solomont Simulation Center to witness and take part in clinical simulations and obtain valuable experiential practice.
