DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION

A Message From the DIRECTOR OF DIVERSITY Rachel Achu-Lopes, MD

The anesthesia residency program at Boston University Medical Center is committed to cultural competency, workplace sensitivity and civility, by fostering a culture that values similarities, but also celebrates differences and considers them essential. Our standard of practice is to exist as a fair, equitable, healthy and inclusive program that aligns and supports our residents and faculty in having open and honest conversations about race, religion, gender and sexual orientation. We believe in the power of seeing things differently and we consider this to be the strength of our program. We look forward to having you share your unique self with us.

The Department of Anesthesiology at Boston Medical Center is committed to facilitating and maintaining a diverse and inclusive cadre of residents and faculty. We strive to cultivate an environment that allows people from all backgrounds the opportunity to realize their unique potential. Aligning with Boston Medical Center’s mission, we are constantly working to equip ourselves with the tools and knowledge to more fully reflect and accomodate the communities we serve.
