The Queen of Sheba felicitates the peo ple, v. 8. She blesses the name of the Lord, v. 9. She gives the glory of Solomon’s position to the Lord, v. 9. Questions: Who are the blessed people? Ps; 89:15, 16; 84:4. What is the basis of our blessing? 1 Peter 1:3-6. What is the sum of our blessing? Eph. 1:3. What is the fullness of our joy? 1 Peter 1 : 8 . (4) The Gifts of the Queen, vs. 10. She gave to Solomon great gifts, v. 10. There were never greater gifts given unto him, v. 10. • Questions: Is it wise to give great gifts to a king? Ps. 72:10. Did Solomon need great gifts for the temple? 1 Kings 9:14, 15.
our Lord Jesus is anything to what we have received from Him (John 10:28; 17:22) ; be sides all this Solomon gave back to her all that she gave to him (2 Chron. 9:12); and “whatsoever she asked’’ in addition “be sides that which he gave her according to the hand of King Solomon.” It is just ,so that our Solomon deals with us. No one (1) The Good Queen and Her Questions, vs. 1-3. The Queen of Sheba hears of the fame of Solomon, v. 1. She visits him to prove his wisdom, v. 1. She came in great style, with great wealth, v. 2. She opened her heart to the king, v. 2. Solomon answered all of her questions, v. 3. Questions : What had the queen heard concerning Solomon? ch. 4:31-34. How had Solomon gained his wisdom and wealth ? ch. 3 :9. What did the queen seek to procure with her wealth? Job 28:18; Prov. 3:15; 8:11. Did*Solomon answer her questions? 2 Chron. 9:2; Prov. 1:5, 6. To whom is it given to know the mys teries of God? Matt. 13:10, 11. In whom is hidden all the treasures of wisdom? Col. 2:3. Who is made wisdom unto us? 1 Cor. 1:30. (2) The Glory of Solomon, vs. 4-7. The queen was given an opportunity to see the riches of Solomon, vs. 4, 5. The effect was to overpower her, v. 5. She assured Solomon that the report of his glory was true, v. 6. She confessed that the half had not been told, v. 7. Questions: Where did Solomon get his riches ? 1 Kings 3:13. Is it wise to glory in riches ? J er. 9 :23.
