It was with' Jacob at Bethel, Gen. 35: 2, 3; so with Moses at Sinai, Ex. 19:14, 15. And so did Hezekiah, 2 Chron. 30:14, 15. Does God desire a prepared heart? ch. 19:3; Luke 1:17. Must known sin be put away ? Isa. 1: 16, 17. . Was it appropriate to offer unto God that which God had so graciously given? Prov. 3 :9; 1 Cor. 16:2. (3) A Sacred Covenant, vs. 12-15. Israel entered into a cpvenant to seek the Lord, v. 12. Whoever failed to do this was to be put to death, v. 13. They ratified the covenant with an oath, ch. 14:15. Questions: Had God made a covenant with Israel? Deut. 29:1-12. Will Israel yet make a covenant with God? Jer. 50:5. Will heart and soul enter into the cove nant? Jer. 29 :13. Is anything short of this genuine ? Luke 10:27; 2 Cor. 8:5. Is enthusiasm a good thing in our rela tion to the Lord? Gal. 4:18; Eph. 5:16. PRACTICAL POINTS (1) God needs men of a dauntless spirit Men that will dare to do deeds of valor. Lord, v. 1. Questions:
