minecraft engineering camp Does your child love Minecraft? Imagine if children learn Civil Engineering and City Planning while they are in a Minecraft world. Students work as civil engineers and city planners to design and create a structured city that includes roads, bridges, and city zones containing housing, stores, libraries, schools and more. Minecraft Java Edition is used in the classroom as the tool for hands-on learning. The camp ends with a presentation of the students’ city. We inspire future Engineers using Minecraft. Students should be familiar with using a computer, mouse, and a version of Minecraft. Instructor: Chasewood Learning Staff. MEDLEY CAMP
LEGO Robotics, Engineering, and Coding all in one camp! Each day students will work on a STEM activity, including building and programming with LEGO robotics, building LEGO mechanical engineering projects, and programming animations and games on computers with MIT’s Scratch. This is a great way to explore everything! Students should be familiar with using a computer. Robotics & SumoBot Camp
GAME DESIGN CODING
Learn to create online games using popular computer gaming platforms that allow users to play with friends, create challenges, and more. This course teaches children how to create their own game on platforms like MIT’s Scratch and Microsoft MakeCode Arcade. Students learn basic to advanced coding techniques: Game Design, Coding concepts, Graphic design, Game interaction... As a result, children can publish their own game online, have people play it! Students should be familiar with using a computer and mouse. AGE: 8-14 FEE: $353R / $529NR MIN/MAX: 5/12 CODE DATE TIME DAY(S) 1151844-A 7/27-7/31 2:00PM-5:00PM MON-FRI
Learn about robotics by designing and programming robots to compete in a SumoBot competition. Kids will learn the physics and concepts of robots through building and programing... controlling motors, reading sensors... that lead to a competition at the end of the camp. An understanding of the engineering process combined with fun competition will provide students a great way to get started in robotics. Students will learn how to problem solve, work in teams and deal with failure, all skills needed in the real world.
