PRE-TEAM B In this class, gymnasts will work on skills to prepare for the Romeoville competitive gymnastics team focusing on AAU level 1 & 2 skills and properly stretching and conditioning their body. Successful completion of Advanced is required along with coach recommendation. This class practices two times per week.
This introductory class will introduce the basics on vault, bars, beam, and floor while building strength, flexibility, and coordination. Skills to look forward to will include: forward rolls, cartwheels, beginning handstand positions and bridges on floor, mounting and walking on the beam, and strength and positioning on the bar. No recommendation required. Strength and flexibility will also be incorporated to create a well-rounded gymnast. Coach recommendation is required. Skills worked on will include handstand to bridge, backbend kickovers, pullover with straight legs, and proper vaulting technique including a tree fall. Coach recommendation is required. Passes can be purchased for the following fees: INDIVIDUAL LESSONS: 1-4 lessons are $30/hour for residents ($45 for non-residents) DISCOUNTED RATE*: 5 or more lessons are $25/hour for residents ($38 for non-residents) GROUP PRIVATE LESSONS (2-3 people who are working on the same skills): 1-4 lessons are $30/hour for residents ($45 for non-residents) DISCOUNTED RATE*: 5+ lessons are $20/hour for residents ($33 for non-residents)
AGE: 6-16 With individualized attention, the coach can focus on your child’s needs and the progressions necessary for improvement. Whether they are working towards a goal for cheer tryouts or just need a little extra help on a specific skill to move up, a one-hour private lesson can make all the difference! Private lessons are limited based on staff availability and facility space. Fill out the private lesson form at the front desk and make the payment, get your child’s picture taken for their private lesson pass card, and then you will be contacted via email to set up dates and times.
