IDENTIFYING A SPEAKER’S OPINION To understand a speaker’s opinion or attitude, listen for positive and negative adjectives, such as fantastic or terrible . Also, listen for verbs such as like and don’t like . Sometimes a speaker’s tone (excited, bored, upset, etc.) can help you know what their opinion is.
