Finding the meaning of new words You can use these strategies to help you find the meaning of new words. Learning to Learn (page 47, activity 8)

Ask yourself if parts of the word look like words you know, or similar in your language.

Guess the meaning using the words around the word and the context of the text.

Ask your teacher or a classmate for the meaning and an example.

Use a dictionary or glossary.
