Theater, Jungle, and Volcanoes
It only took us four hours to fly to Costa Rica. San Jose, the capital, is a lot smaller than Mexico City. The taxi driver told us that 300,000 people live there. It has lots of museums and the National Theater is famous for plays, Flamenco shows, and its symphony orchestra. We also went to the Children’s Museum, where I got to learn about space, music, science, and animals. It was really cool; it looks like a castle. At the Children’s Museum I also learned that there are 200 volcanoes in Costa Rica, but only 6 are active (they have hot lava inside). We got to visit the Arenal volcano. We had to walk a lot to see it, but it’s really green there. After our walk, we got to relax in hot springs . It was just like sitting in the bath! The only thing I didn’t like was that it was cloudy and rainy all the time, but at least it was warm. The next day we took a tour through the jungle. We walked on these really long hanging bridges, and our tour guide showed us lots of plants, birds, and monkeys.
