I was surprised to nd out about their national sport. I would say Mexico’s national sport is soccer, or at least the most popular. But in Japan, it’s sumo. Sumo wrestling is the oldest of Japan’s martial arts and was introduced in the country around 1,500 years ago. We were amazed at their clothes —they wear almost nothing! International sumo athletes may wear shorts, but traditional sumo wrestlers wear only loincloths called mawashi .
