Partners' Update - Issue 2 March 2026

We support tenants with the cost of living, debt, welfare benefits and returning to work or training. Southway Academy This year, we launched and funded Southway Academy – a four-week programme to help residents gain valuable skills and experience by working alongside teams across our departments.

Since April 2025, we’ve: • Helped tenants claim almost £1.9m in unclaimed benefits. £494,000 of this was financial gains for tenants aged 65+ • Opened 504 cases to help tenants claim benefits, maximise entitlements and access advocacy services – 126 more since our last update • Launched a new Supported Internship Programme with Manchester City Council to help young people with learning disabilities into work • Celebrated 61 tenants into work • Secured 22 young people work placements at Southway • Handed out £11,907 in energy vouchers to 91 tenants • 112 foodbank vouchers given to people in need • Held a Step into Care recruitment event with local health organisations and The Christie to help people into care sector employment • Donated £5,174 from our Orange Blossom Fund to people facing hardship

Youth Elevate Our Youth Elevate programme provides one- to-one coaching and three-month work placements for 16 to 24-year-olds in Manchester, funded by GMCA.
