Doing More, Growing More, Giving More…, Becoming More I was born and raised in a small town on a street that was situated between the north and south running I-75 and railroad tracks. From the eyes of a young lad these parallel paths provided for imaginative dreams of travel. The railroad tracks ran on the border of the County Fairgrounds where the mystery of travel was enriched each spring when the Carnival came to town. Trucks filled with rides, gaming booths, food stalls, elephants, horses, and the occasional camel. I vividly recall one summer when the wanderlust in me found me making friends with the carnies and the ring toss guy actually hired me to bark at his booth. When my father discovered that I was exploring this career option at the wise age of 12 or 13 and missing Little League practice to do it, well, let’s just say my career as a Carny was over! So it is with great hope that I get to see you at the BOMA CARNIVAL Trade Fair where I get to play the role of Ringmaster at Eastern Market. If you have not yet registered, please do that today. The event is FREE for all Commercial Real Estate professionals. All we ask is that you register in advance. We have some fabulous prizes that far outweigh the rock n’ roll mirrors of my Carny youth. The business card Grand Prize for Property Managers is a two- night all-expensive paid trip to The Grand Hotel on Mackinaw Island. Our Supplier ultimate prize package sets you up with everything you need for summer fun. The Best Costume will win the Detroit Fan gear and memorabilia package. And to all of our Exhibitors that bring contagious energy and excitement, Thank You for all that you do! The Best Exhibit Booth will be awarded with a Buddy’s Pizza Prize package for your team!
In other event networking news, the Spring Classic Golf Event is now open for registration. This event will SELL OUT in the coming days. There is nothing we can do once it is sold out…, so register your group TODAY! And this year we take time to celebrate our Outstanding Buildings of the Year with a TOBY Tour of the Book Tower Building. Keep an eye on BOMADet.org for registration details. And we will also soon be releasing information about the Boat Outing and the first ever BOMA ArtPrize Beer Summit with our BOMA West Michigan colleagues. Lastly, we are looking for authors that wish to write on issues that impact Commercial Real Estate. Substantive articles from any lens of the industry are welcome. We look forward to reading your take on various aspects of the CRE world, be it Facilities, HR, Finance, Energy, Regulations or something else. Please contact me if interested.

Live Webcast: Impact of GSA and Federal Asset Dispositions BOMI The General Services Administration (GSA) oversees an incredible 363 million square feet of space across 8,397 buildings in over 2,200 communities nationwide. These properties go beyond office buildings — they include courthouses, laboratories, data processing centers and even land ports of entry. Yet, it's now known that under the Department of Government Efficiency's (DOGE) budget-cutting action, federal offices around the country are slated to close and hundreds of real estate leases are slated to end. What strategies could reshape GSA's owned assets in today's oversupplied market, and how might they decide which properties and vendors to maintain or release? Join our exclusive webcast on Wednesday, April 23 , from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. EST, to explore these pivotal questions and uncover transformative opportunities for buyers, investors and communities alike where neighborhoods could be reimagined, spark industry movement and find optimism in what's ahead.
