REJUVENATION SURGERIES:
It may surprise some of you that one of the most commonly performed procedures at CaloAesthetics is facial rejuvenation surgery. This newsletter is full of non-surgical options at CaloSpa – Botox, fillers, Sculptra, HALO Laser, Genius, INFINI Microneedling, HydraFacials, Dermaplaning, thread lifts – I could go on and on, but surgery is sometimes necessary to achieve our patient’s goals and can provide some of the most natural, long-lasting results. Let me review just a few of our more common facial rejuvenation surgeries. – Dr. Bradley Calobrace
FACELIFTS Facelifts are what everyone thinks about when talking about facial surgery. However, there are many different types we perform based on our patients' age, level of facial aging, and desired outcome. All facelifts include some type of neck lift, but we also can do neck lifts without performing a full facelift. We also do the CaloLift or aMAYSing Lift, both mini-facelifts designed to achieve excellent outcomes with less downtime. What is critical in all facelift and neck lift procedures is not to simply pull the skin back, but to correct and tighten the underlying muscle and tissues as a key part of the treatment. This type of correction results in facelifts which are OFTEN much more NATURAL looking than using too much fillers and non-surgical facial treatments trying to achieve the needed correction.
BROWLIFTS &BLEPHAROPLASTIES Browlifts (eyebrow and forehead surgery) and Blepharoplasties (eyelid surgery) are extremely common in men and women looking for a more youthful, restful appearance. The endoscopic browlift is performed with only small incisions in the hairline. It is, in a way, quite scarless. This procedure repositions the brow, weakens the frown muscles (the 11’s), and softens the lines of the forehead. The browlift also improves the hooding of skin over the outer brow and crow’s feet. Upper eyelid surgery removes unwanted excess skin and fat, providing a crisper, clean upper eyelid crease. The lower eyelid surgery removes the pockets of fat, tightens the lower lid skin, and improves dark circles. The incision is along the lash line and almost always becomes nearly invisible as it heals. Browlift and eyelid surgeries are quite painless, heal quickly, opening up the eyes creating a more rested, youthful appearance.
FAT GRAFTING Fat grafting has become a part of almost all facial aesthetic procedures, either as a standalone procedure or in conjunction with facelifts and eyelid surgery. The fat is placed with a blunt needle through tiny incisions and one can expect about half of it to survive long-term. The restoration of volume while rejuvenating the face and eyes provides a more natural, enduring result and reduces the need for future fillers. CHINAUGMENTATION Chin augmentation is often accomplished with the use of a small silicone implant through a small incision hidden underneath the chin. This is often combined with liposuction of the neck and/or a central neck lift to tighten and lengthen the chin-neck angle. Sometimes, a chin augmentation combined with rhinoplasty can restore important facial harmony.
