Improve the user experience, management, quality, safety and sustainability of the current eMR by continuing to enhance the platform, responding to clinical operations needs. Example actions to help achieve this outcome include:
Better usability and improved workflows
Consider employing human centred design approaches to identifying areas of improvement and optimising future designs, for example by adding logic to Consider moving away from trying to automate paper processes to moving into adding value through insights and decision support that go beyond basic alerts. Consider internal ICT function capacity against the required enhancements and human design requirements. Align with investments and decisions from initiative ‘6.1 Review the current ICT operating and service model’ to fulfil capability gaps as required Identify the need for each of eMR enhancement areas and prioritise these areas based on their urgency Consider the return on investment for eMR enhancements against the upcoming statewide SDPR investments Implement a self-learning platform for all digital training, consider enhancing self- learning platforms already in place at the LHD.
