Props, Sets, Design Crew Fee: $130 Students will take part in arts and crafts activities as they prepare the stage for performances by Play Production & Creative Dramatics, as well as Creative Dramatics II. They will learn how to be organized with a full production of actors and props. They will create costumes, props and backdrops to be used in the actual performance. Students' creativity and imagination will be in full demand as they bring the production to life! 1 Hour Grades 5-8 Career Connection: This class connects to careers in stage design, costume design, and theater production by teaching students how to create props, costumes, and set pieces for live performances while fostering creativity and organizational skills. Creative Dramatics Intermediate 2 Hours Grades 3-5 Fee: $190 Have you ever heard of the Tengu of Japan? How about the Celtic Dullahan? Each week we will explore the bizarre and unexplained myths and legends of continents across the world. Students will read age-appropriate stories, play culturally themed games, learn about monster holidays and create projects based on each legend. Career Connection: This class connects to careers in folklore research, cultural anthropology, and storytelling by exploring global myths and legends while developing research, creativity, and project- making skills. Creative Dramatics Advanced 2 Hours Grades 6-8 Fee: $190 Creative Dramatics Advanced is an exciting, hands-on course that combines the magic of theater with the energy of musical performance. In this course, students will explore the world of musical theater through singing, dancing, acting, and storytelling. They will develop their creative expression while learning the fundamentals of performing in a musical production. Career Connection: Creative Dramatics Advanced provides students with valuable skills that connect to a wide range of careers, both within the arts and beyond. Through this course, students develop a foundation in musical theater, learning the essential skills of acting, singing, and dancing while fostering creativity, communication, and teamwork—skills that are applicable in many professional fields. Fee: $190 Reader’s Theater: Where Reading Meets Fun! Reader’s Theater is all about immersing yourself in stories and discovering how engaged readers connect with what they read. Together, we’ll read, practice, and put on our very own classroom performance that’s not only fun but also a fantastic way to build confidence and teamwork. Lights, Camera, Literacy 2 Hours Grades 3-5 Career Connection: Reader's Theater, a performance-based reading strategy, connects to various careers by fostering essential skills like communication, collaboration, and critical thinking. The course provides a fun and engaging way to prepare individuals for roles in teaching, public relations, event management, customer service, sales, and nonprofit work.
