When the summer comes to a close and the leaves begin to change, children return to school and those who chose to travel wrap up their summer vacations. Global circumstances have conspired to make traveling difficult and often unwise this year but soon that will change and when it does, we will surely rethink a lot of the things we took for granted. Many people will reconsider the wisdom in going back to work in an office and instead choose to continue working from home, for example. But maybe one of the things we should reconsider is traveling during the summer. It’s a tradition rooted in practicality that dates back to a time when the majority of people were farmers and children were needed at home during the summer months. In most parts of the world taking an annual vacation during the summer is a practice that is still observed. Summer is a time when schools let out and the weather is perfect for relaxing in the sun and forgetting one’s responsibilities so there are a lot of good reasons to choose this time to travel. But there are also some downsides.
