Global Chic Lifestyle~ Winter

In thick wool coats, scarves, and hats, we ventured into the old town’s cobblestone streets. It was dark and the wind was very cold. As we walked through the empty alleys, we heard the distant sounds of singing and laughter and a faint golden glow spilled out onto the cold street ahead. When we entered the market, we saw wooden stalls awash in golden light and the crowded square was warmed by the lively bustle of Christmas shoppers. Vendors sold wooden toys and Christmas trees and the irresistible smells of baking pretzels and hot chocolate filled the air. I bought a bratwurst right off the grill and it was served in a warm and freshly baked roll. The incomparable, mouth-watering flavor and the feeling of warmth that filled me from the inside as the wind swept the cold across my face and hands is one of my most vivid and important memories.
