Most everything on my tree is a memory of someone or a time. I’ve added so many of my favorite articles of jewelry to the tree. The favorites are: Mom’s photo when she was 21. My parent’s wedding photo. My dog Jazzy, a Wheaten Terrier. Mom raised Siamese and Himalayan cats; the little cat pin was hers. Now it’s mine, I’ve had several Siamese over the years, and I currently live with Koko, a 16-year-old Siamese. The small strand of red beads is from Mom’s necklace that I restrung into a necklace and bracelet and had this leftover. My son’s sheriff badge is on the tree as is my camera charm. Dad gave me a watch for a graduation gift because his dad gave him a watch for his graduation. Mom’s watch is on the tree too. My brother searches for Petosky Stones found in Michigan which he then polishes. It is at the base of the tree. Now I have a Christmas Tree that will be out every year! As any artist knows, designs and styles are what you imagine. I encourage you to look at your jewelry. All of us have broken, forgotten pieces, and unused jewelry just waiting for a new beginning. Be creative and design something that stirs your memories from the past that you’ll enjoy now.
