Reunion Day 2024

The Arnold Embellishers by the new gates at the Grange Road end of Old Wish Road, with the house rugby competition taking place on College Field

T he Reunion Weekend continued on Saturday 7 September, with 70 Old Eastbournians, along with family members and partners, revisiting their old school. The day kicked off with a spirited house rugby match on College Field. Despite the rain, the enthusiasm remained high as many cheered on their former houses. A won- derful spread for lunch was laid out in Big

School, where OEs had the chance to chat, reminisce, and enjoy a display of archive photos. The Arnold Embellishers, fresh from their annual meeting, joined us for lunch. Throughout the day, school and house tours gave the guests a chance to see not only the familiar haunts of their schooldays, but also the new buildings and facilities which have been added in recent years. Members of the Arnold Embellishers

were delighted to view the recently-installed King Charles III and Crawshaw Henley Gates at both ends of Old Wish Road, created by blacksmith David Mortimer (Wargrave 1987–92), as well as the display cabinet in the Warren Atrium to house awards won by OEs in the creative arts. Both were projects which involved the benefaction of the Arnold Embellishers, for which we are extremely grateful.
