Often referred to as 308 or the ‘white-legged boar’, ROAR is the result of our first attempt at lining up Top Gun. His mother is the highly decorated show gilt ‘Tequila’ for the Col Family that sells as Lot 1 in this sale. Her first mating to Lion Share was ‘swinging for the fence’ and there’s no doubt, ROAR is everything we expected and everything his picture represents. This is one powerful herdsire and we’re hopeful he can fill the void after losing Lion Share.

Tru Value was the $65,000 Class-winning boar from TRU Genetics that we purchased with Hi Point Genetics. A son of Hands Down, his dam is a Top Gun daughter that was Champion Hampshire Gilt at ‘21 San Antonio and was TRU’s selection at the farm after purchasing our ‘Pick of the Hampshires’ lot in the ‘21 Exchange. He himself is a great #HHInfluence story and after watching Hands Down work well here - especially on Top Gun daughters - we were anxious to put him to work, and we did.

They say timing is everything and in our program, there has never been a better time for one quite like this one. His look upfront, skeletal build and pattern from the side is impeccable - certainly the kind of sire that can generate Hampshire females for the show ring. He’s backed by a sow that was in production here for at least 10 parities, a span that is virtually unheard of for any breed around here and yet she always contributed quality - the same expectation we have for him.
