This gilt was purchased from Hi Point as a prospect at PT’21. She was admired for her look, balance, and bone. We let the crew from Southwest Unlimited campaign her throughout the winter on the show circuit where she took home multiple banners after being named Champion. It was an easy decision to match her up with the promising young Bullseye son we sold to Beaman’s, “Hole N 1”. My prediction is this litter will make someone famous next summer. A unique outcross opportunity in the works to the showring today. The industry is in need of genetic diversity and that is just what this one offer as well as a productive looking long-term sow. We are offering a pair of Hampshire Bred Gilts. Both females were originally part of a plan, however with conviction to a genetic plan in place, these outside genetics will interrupt what we are striving to accomplish at this time. With that these two-offer excellent quality, promise and will contribute great things to many programs. Obviously, we mated them the way we feel best produces the best litters.

This female has become a key contributor to building a foundation here at Savage Genetics. “Daisy” comes to us from Mike and Cody Day, Day Farms. A herd recognized around the industry for producing females with high production traits; they breed, settle, farrow, and raise pigs (something that cannot be said about all Hampshires we have worked with). “Daisy” was introduced to the herd at what we consider an early age. She bred, settled, and farrowed the first time with 20 yrs. old frozen semen at 13 months old. She just had (3) pigs which includes our exciting herd sire SWEET LOOKIN, but impressively raised an additional 8 others. “Daisy’s” February litter of Hands Down produced four keeper gilts and the recent Champion Hampshire Gilt at Heart of Texas Fair. Her summer litter resulted in 3 Jug Head gilts we plan to keep. “Daisy” is bred to Hands Down for a repeat mating from her second litter. “Daisy” has produced a unique son in Sweet Lookin and 5-6 keeper gilts from two other litters. She has made a positive impact for the future of Savage Genetics, now she can go to work for you while still in her prime.
