Right now, sustainability is at the top of people’s agendas, and to help, we’ve rounded up the brands in Carnaby who are doing their best to give back and make strides towards a more sustainable, ethical and mindful future. From the eyewear brand donating one pair of glasses for every pair sold to the consumer giants putting their weight behind ambitious circularity pledges, Carnaby Cares is all about what the Carnaby community is doing to give back sustainably and ethically. French clothing brand A.P.C. ’s recycling programme allows all customers to return their old A.P.C. clothing to the store on Lexington Street and exchange it for a credit note valid for 6 months, according to a specific rate schedule. The returned products are aggregated and donated to a charitable organisation to be sold in a network of charity shops.

Vans ’ sustainability mantra —, the future starts today, — plays out with their mainly vegan shoes, demonstrating the company's commitment to ensuring that not only its rubber and canvas but also its dyes, adhesives and curing agents are free of animal-derived substances. Its new range of EcoTheory footwear is part of the goal tosource regenerative, responsibly sourced, renewable or recycled materials.

The Made to Be Remade circular fashion initiative from adidas is blazing the trail towards a sustainable future. Choose from a range of recycled shoes and clothes, from polo shirts to shorts and trainers for men and women. This product is made to be remade. Run it down. Then return it. adidas will grind it, shred it and turn it into something new. The end of one product is the beginning of the next. No compromise on performance and a better choice for both athlete and planet.

Shoppers keen to do their bit to help save the animals can purchase a pair of Havaianas ' sandals featuring images of endangered species. The company will donate 7% of sales to IPÊ Institute projects to conserve Brazilian biodiversity. With the help of this partnership, 3.2 million trees have already been planted in the Atlantic Forest. How amazing is that!

All eyes are on denim as one of the most water-thirsty clothing industries and the iconic jeans brand is making big steps with its sustainability initiatives. It's launched Cottonised Hemp, Water<Less® technology and other production initiatives, as well as opening a Tailor Shop to repair clothing to "literally last a lifetime”. By 2025, the company hopes to be using 100% sustainably sourced cotton. Vintage or new, Levi's jeans are being made to last.

Sweaty Betty has transformed over 1 million plastic bottles into leggings. The brand has also raised funds for Black Minds Matter and the Loveland Foundation, who provide mental health support and therapy to black people in the UK and the US. Meanwhile, the new Sweaty Betty Foundation has been partnering with charities to design programmes to support teenage girls and help them to get active.
