Pubs

Carnaby’s much-loved pubs reflect the area’s diverse history and represent an escape where folks come to dine, drink and have a good time. Kingly Street is home to two iconic watering holes, The Clachan and The Red Lion . The former, tucked behind Liberty London, was devised as a Scottish-themed and highly ornate ‘gin palace’. The latter delivers a welcoming cosy glow to all who enter with its atmospheric wood-panelled entrance illuminated by coloured-glass lamps. Not far from Liberty London, on Great Marlborough Street, you'll see a curious model of the Bard on the exterior above PU B S

the entrance of The Shakespeare’s Head . If you’re a fan of The Simpsons, this strangely blueish face is something you'll probably recognise. Standing out in its red paint, The Shaston Arms on Ganton Street prides itself on being the perfect place for a pint. This tiny tavern is positioned between the hub of Carnaby Street and Marshall Street. A traditional pub serving classic pub grub throughout the day is The Blue Posts , located on Ganton Street. With plenty of al fresco seating, this is the perfect post- shopping spot where you can take a seat and relax with a pint or two and a bowl of chips. Last but not least, The White Horse , situated on beautiful Newburgh Street, dates back to the Georgian era, with original architecture from the 1700s. A hotspot for locals, it hosts regular live music nights.
