Istwa Bèf la e Chen an/ The Tale of the Cow and the Dog Written by David Shema Karangwa & illustrated by Emmanuel Bagirishya The dog sleeps all day, and the cow does all the chores. Not understanding why the dog doesn’t help with chores, the cow decides to ignore and stop feeding milk to the dog, forcing him to venture away from their home to find food. While the dog is gone, a wolf tries to attack the cows, which is when the cow and her calf realize that the dog sleeps all day because he stays up all night to guard them and keep them safe! But who will help them now? This tale of gratitude is accompanied by simple artwork that complements the lesson it teaches.
