It’s not Personal,

It’s Business

by Jody Euloth

Recently, I read a post on LinkedIn written by one of my colleagues about being ignored or getting the ‘silent treatment’ in business. He talked about how by not receiving a response to his email in the time he felt he should have turned into frustration. And, as a result, he was taking it personal and feeling ignored. This feeling can be daunting for a salesperson or anyone in business for that matter. It can make you not want to reach out again in fear that you are bothering the other person. It can make you leave opportunities on the table, if you don’t have a plan for continuous follow up and reach out. And it can play on your psyche, if you let it. What is important to remember is that, most often than not, it’s not personal.
