that we now have Cod's Holy Spir it dwelling within to help us in all of our times of need. There is vic tory available for us. All of our affairs are in the hands of the One who loves us and who does all things well (Romans 8:28). We do not serve an impersonal God. He loves us completely and orders the events of our lives to lead us for ward in line with His perfect and most desirable will. Sometimes He permits suffering and hardship to come our way in order that He might accomplish in us that which will be for our highest good and for His ultimate glory. The title "Lord," or "Jehovah," is given by Cod to Jesus and means that He is coming again. No one can begin to imagine what all will one day be in subjection to Christ in that tremendous hour. If He is to be Lord completely He must re turn again. At His second coming He will put down evil, establishing His righteous will forever (Hebrews 2:8). The Apostle Paul always asso ciated the second coming of the Saviour with the fact that Christ is Lord. I wonder, are you looking for His coming? Such anticipation will give you strength in your troubles and difficulties. In I Corinthians 16 Paul uses the Aramaic word "ma- ranatha." Actually this is composed of two words run together. One is "come" and the other is "Lord." They can be divided two ways for double meanings. The prayer can read "maran atha" which means, "Our Lord is coming." Or, it can read as "maranatha" which means "Oh Lord, come!" In either case it is a fervent prayer of the trusting, expectant heart. May it be the focal desire in our lives as well. "Even so, come, Lord Jesus." Page 41
and confident declaration as well. Jesus Christ has been properly exalted by Cod because of the Son's obedience and humility in coming to this earth to die on the cross. No higher name could have been bestowed upon Him than that of Jehovah Himself. He has further been exalted, which is hard to conceive of with our own fin ite minds, to Cod's right hand where He now sits interceding for us. Are you able to say that you have personally confessed that Je sus Christ is Cod? Is He your Sav iour and Lord? This is absolutely essential. All that you will ever know about God on this earth you will have to learn as you look to the Saviour. Jesus Christ is the only answer to your problems, no mat ter who you may be. In the Garden on that Easter morning, Mary confessed, "My Lord and my God." They were speaking to Jesus Christ who is Je hovah. You see, it is not enough merely to acknowledge mentally that Jesus Christ is Cod. The de mons also do this, trembling in fear of Him. The Bible says Jesus must be your Cod and your Lord. It is not enough just to seek to be mor ally good, or even to be devoutly religious. Salvation is based entirely upon Jesus Christ and believing what He did for us to purchase our eternal life by His death on the cross. As Jehovah, Jesus Christ is sov ereign, controlling even the smal- est things of life. One day He will subdue all of His enemies forever (Philippians 2:9-11). The Christian life is not an escape from troubles and problems. If this were so Cod would have taken us out of the world. The Christian life means
