Mathias Ranch - Annual Sale [9/27/25]

What an exciting time to be in the cattle business!

Historic times are here in the beef industry, and Mathias Ranch is proud to be part of the future—both of the industry and the Red Angus Association of America (RAAA). During a recent talk, Dr. Derrell Peel (Oklahoma State University) pro - jected that cattle markets will remain strong throughout the decade, noting that Americans continue to value high-qual - ity beef even in times of inflation. At Mathias Ranch, our mission is clear: to provide customers with the genetics to succeed in this favorable climate. The foundation of our Red Angus herd began with the purchase of elite bred heifers and Adelle 575D from Bieber Red Angus. In November 2021, we expanded further through the historic Ludvigson Dispersal—a large event backed by generations of proven data. Soon after, we added “Goldilocks F942” from the R.A. Brown Ranch, a donor female whose influence continues to strengthen our program. We also acquired F8097 from the R.A. Brown Ranch, who is becoming an integral part of our embryo program. She is a full sister to Brown Oracle B112 and the dam of Brown Ideal K1377. We are proud of the journey that has taken us to this point. Today, RAAA data confirms Mathias Ranch as the largest Red Angus breeder in Arkansas and among the top 5% nationwide. As we grow, our commitment remains focused on building cattle that meet the highest standards: genomic-enhanced EPDs, functional structure, strong phenotype, and the balance that both commercial and seedstock producers demand. By blending the proven performance and phenotype of Dakota cattle genetics with the carcass merit, feed efficiency, and adaptability of R.A. Brown, we are developing cattle that perform in the pasture and on the rail while standing out with eye appeal. Participation in the R.A. Brown Cooperator Program further allows us to proudly showcase our genetics on a larger scale, reaching new markets and reinforcing the Mathias Ranch breeding program both in Arkansas and nationally. Every animal at Mathias Ranch is backed by genomic data from both Neogen (Red Angus EPDs) and Zoetis ($Profit®). Our breeding goals are straightforward: push growth and marbling, maintain moderate birth weights and calving ease, while preserving the maternal strength for which Red Angus is known. We live by what we promote—our commercial herd is

heavily influenced by Red Angus genetics and powered by Mathias Ranch-raised bulls. Recent steer loads sold through Superior Livestock ranked in the top 5% of Top Dollar Angus, while slaughter data revealed exceptional results, with cattle grading Choice and Prime at a high percentage. In addition, our Black-Red Program introduces outcross genetics, blending the strengths of both colors of Angus. We are excited to see this scheme influence fu - ture generations, because at the end of the day— Angus is Angus . We invite you to join us at the ranch on September 27th, or participate via DVAuc - tion. We look forward to sharing our program and building lasting connections. —Toby
