Housing Choices will fund the preliminary stages of a development and asset management strategy. The project will carefully match development and upgrade work to housing needs of current and future tenants. Consultation with the existing residents is central to the strategy development, with stage one involving the redevelopment of two vacant properties (developing six new properties in total).

Development of 17 two-bedroom townhouses; 14 homes retained as social housing,three sold to the private property market. This is Housing Choices’ participation in the South Australian Government‘s Better Neighbourhoods redevelopment in Felixstow. Additional vacant land will be transferred to Housing Choices under the ROSAS program, and will be suitable for small families and people living with disabilities, including NDIS clients. Close to Linear Park, public transport (Klemzig Interchange) and schools.

23 upgraded independent living units, suitable for older singles and couples. Housing Choices will work with an aged care partner to provide access to upgraded, independent living units suitable for older social housing residents. This project will improve access to community supports and services for older tenants, supporting them to age in place. Upgrades will include home modifications to improve accessibility, kitchen, bathroom and interior refurbishment.
