“our” Club’s website to review it) … but you should already be aware of all “our” Club has to offer. You are missing out if you aren’t. This time I am endeavoring to emphasize how important it is for all Club members to not only take full advantage of “our” Club but for all Club members to play a role in maintaining and strengthening its viability. Candidly, this means utilizing it, encouraging friends and colleagues to consider joining, recommending organizations and groups to hold meetings and events at “our” Club, and informing those you know who are traveling to the Washington, DC metropolitan area that the best place to stay is “our” Club. We … the members … can and should be the best advocates for raising “our” Club’s profile, growing the membership, and increasing the revenue stream that will allow it to thrive. Finally, I want to express appreciation for two other critically important elements of “our” Club. First, fellow members who serve on the Board of Governors, the Board of Admissions, the Board of the University Club of Washington, DC Foundation (of which I am a relatively new member), the Board of the new University Club of Washington, DC Historic Preservation Foundation, and the various member committees. Understand and appreciate that those involved in these bodies are “volunteering” their time, expertise, and energy. Second, every member of “our”

Club’s staff. They are focused on and dedicated to serving the membership to the best of their abilities.

A final observation:

Pete West Club Member Since 1993

I encourage all my fellow members of “our” University Club of Washington, DC who read this … (my second contribution to this new opportunity for members to share their Club experiences and perspectives about “our” Club) … to take what I have written to heart. In my first piece I emphasized the many benefits and positive aspects of “our” Club, as well as its value to me personally since I joined in 1993. I won’t rehash what I wrote … (you can go back to that initial presentation in an [earlier] issue of “Mansion on 16th Magazine” at “Our” University Club Journey
