Walk to End Alzheimer’s Join Your University Club members on September 27th for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s at the National Mall. There is no registration fee for the walk. However, the organization asks every participant to make a personal donation and commit to raising funds in the fight against Alzheimer’s. Every registered participant who achieves the fundraising minimum of $100 will receive an official Walk to End Alzheimer’s T-shirt via USPS. To receive a shirt in time for Walk day, participants must raise the T-shirt minimum at least four weeks prior to the event. Each registered participant will receive a Promise Garden flower. Please choose the color that best represents your connection to the disease. All funds raised through Walk to End Alzheimer’s further the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.
9/11 Stair Climb Challenge In recognition of September 11, 2001 join us for our Stair Climb Challenge. Members will Climb 2071 steps representing the 110 floors of the Twin Towers on 9/11. Members can join staff at the athletics stairs case for a group effort (7AM, Noon or 7PM) on September 11. Or they can complete their challenge independently on the stairs, or by utilizing the Spark or Stair climber elliptical.
National Dance Day National Dance Day was created to encourage Americans all over the USA to embrace dancing as a way to improve their health and to fight the epidemic of obesity that was ravaging the country. Dancing is a great way to improve cardiovascular health, endurance, muscle tone, and muscle flexibility.
