Action Items:

 The Chief will host four (4) “Community Advisory Board” meetings a year to continue building trust and relationships in every community.

Accomplished:

The Chief will continue to host at least four (4) Community Advisory Board meetings per year.

 The Chief will restore “Ministers Against Crime” as an effective liaison between the FWPD and the African-American community.

Accomplished:

Ministers Against Crime (MAC) has been restored, is an active partner with the Police Department and remains active within the community. The Chief attended several MAC meetings in order to foster increased MAC membership and to promote interaction with officers on ride-a-longs and by participating in neighborhood conflict resolution.  All members of the Community Advisory Board have the Chief’s direct email, and some have his cell phone number. We will begin an era of direct communication to increase the effectiveness of decisions and information between each other. The Chief and department are actively engaging the community through traditional community meetings as well as through email, social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and Pinterest. He also presented members of the Police Advisory Board with all of the prerequisite info during his introductory meeting.  The Chief will focus on attending smaller “neighborhood association” meetings or meetings with residents in a more intimate setting. This will increase communication efforts and provide a direct method in addressing their concerns. Accomplished:

The Chief continues to attend a series of meetings including hosting forums in the North, South, East, and West Divisions. He attended numerous neighborhood association meetings, civic meetings and public speaking events in every area, and scheduled future forums to remain active, accessible, and accountable to the community.
