Crimes Against Persons Total Crimes Against Persons offenses was 13,144 in 2012 compared to 13,216 in 2016; a 0.5 percent increase since 2012. The most common Crimes Against Persons offenses are simple assaults. In 2016, simple assaults accounted for 60 percent of all Crimes Against Persons, and the second most common category, aggravated assaults, accounted for approximately 21 percent.
