Fort Worth Police Department Strategic Plan
As part of the Five-Year Strategic Plan update, FWPD personnel and the Strategic Plan Advisory Committee chose the new mission and vision statements below.
Mission Statement
The Fort Worth Police Department exists to safeguard the lives and property of those we serve, to reduce the incidence and fear of crime, and to enhance public safety through partnering and building trust with the community.
Vision Statement
The Fort Worth Police Department will be a national leader in law enforcement by maintaining a trusted partnership with the community, employing diverse and highly skilled professionals and implementing an innovative policing model focused on community engagement, crime prevention, advanced training, and problem solving.
Core Values Exercise
Through the SWOT exercise and development of a Vision and Mission statements, several key descriptive words consistently reappeared. These words were formed into acronyms and a survey was provided to the committee and department asking for a vote on the best depiction of core values of the FWPD.
