Facility Guiding Principle #5 – Enhance Technology Infrastructure Capacity at all Facilities to Meet Operational Needs Critical to facility design is the provision of IT infrastructure needed to meet the operational demands of police facilities. Future IT-related capacity needs should be incorporated into the design of all police facilities in order to proactively respond to the continuous advances made in police IT infrastructure. Capital Improvement Plan Priorities The FWPD has submitted capital improvement priorities to the City for review and consideration every year. The City recently restructured its process for reviewing and ranking Capital Improvements citywide, and the Police Department actively served on a committee to provide input in the development of the scoring matrix, as well as, participated in the review and ranking process. Each department updates submissions annually. Below is a list of the top capital equipment needs of the Police Department:
