CURRICULUM & PEDAGOGY
HISTORY LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT DAY
FROM GLOBAL TO LOCAL IN PRIMARY HISTORY
LED BY ANDREW WRENN FROM THE HISTORY ASSOCIATION
This practical, one-day course explores how the Primary History curriculum can be thoughtfully designed to weave together international, national, and local history. Learn how to skilfully layer and revisit both substantive and disciplinary knowledge over time, creating a curriculum that not only builds understanding but also connects meaningfully to pupils' lives. For Birmingham pupils in particular, history can serve as both a window to the wider world and a mirror reflecting their own identities. Whether you were part of our specialist-led subject network or joining our curriculum training for the first time, this course will deepen your knowledge and expertise. You'll leave with practical strategies and key takeaways to help you support colleagues and lead outstanding history provision in your school.
