La date limite pour présen- ter une demande est le 20 mai 2016. – Gregg Chamberlain Twin agreements for SNC The South Nation Conservation Authority (SNC) has new twinning agreements with counterparts in Qué- bec and France. SMAGE des Gardons of France and l’Organisme de concertation pour l’eau des bassins versants de la rivière Nicolet (COPERNIC) in Québec each have responsibilities for watershed manage- ment in their regions. SNC received a request in 2014 to join them in a twinning agreement for sharing information and technical knowledge for mutual benefit in watershed management. The SNC and COPERNIC hosted each other in exchange visits this year, and last year some SNC staff paid a visit to the SMAGE Gardons regional office to discuss and exchange ideas. Students from the Mother Teresa Catholic School’s EcoKids Club recently planted two trees in front of the school on Thursday, May 19. The two sugar maples were purchased from Beyond the House in Russell using the money raised by fundraisers such as the Wear Green day, an amount of over $300. Val Hoag from Beyond the House came to deliver the trees and help the students plant them. She also gave the students a lesson about trees, what they need to live, how to care for them and how to plant them. The students learned a great deal during this project and plan on raising more money and buying more trees next year.
