Staff are allowed to enter the building, do what they need to do and then leave. Minimal services will be provided (utilities, cleaning etc)

Building alarms during closures If you are on University premises and at any time the building alarm system sounds: • In the event of an audible alarm in the building, occupants should leave via the nearest safe exit and assemble in the recognised evacuation assembly are, or if at night, to a well lit area at a safe distance away from the vicinity of a main entrance to the building. • Remain there (providing it is safe to do so) and await instructions from a University Safety and Security officer or Emergency Services personnel. If you are on University premises and become aware of a life threatening or dangerous situation: • Call 000 and report the issue to Emergency Services • Self Evacuate from the building to the recognised Assembly Area or, if at night, to a well-lit area. • Make a back up call to University Safety and Security on 6226 7600 and report the incident.
Changes to mail services With the large number of staff now working remotely, mail to Sandy bay, Newnham and Cradle Coast campuses is now being delivered to centralised mail hubs. These hubs are the Old Co-op Bookshop in the TUU building, the old Commonwealth Bank office and the Reception area respectively. Under this revised arrangement, representatives from each organisational unit will be able to collect mail from the mail hubs. Mail pick-up and delivery will also be reduced from the current daily service to a twice weekly service, with the exception of mail being delivered to student residences which will continue on a daily basis. The TUU Australia Post Office outlet in the TUU Building will remain open, 9am to 12pm (Monday to Friday). Access is via the Churchill Avenue sliding glass doors. For more information and the drop off/pick up schedule, visit the mail services story on the staff intranet.
