My Personal Diary By Britney
Monday School. Face masks. One way system. Sanitizers. Rules. Rules. Rules. Got the standard “ starting Leaving Cert Cycle ” pep talk, all about the rest of our lives depending on how we do in the Leaving, how hard we ’ re going to have to work, prioritising work over hobbies, homework over socialising, blah blah blah. Then after trying to scare us for 20 solid minutes, she tells us to relax, watch our mental health, and enjoy the next two years, because they are going to be the best two years of our lives. Tuesday How can they have had like forever to work out how school was going to work, and still end up going around in circles, with nobody having a clue where they are supposed to be, or what they are supposed to be doing. Chaos reigns. Wednesday Gimme a break here. Social distancing in school is a sick joke. This won ’ t end well. Thursday Fed up talking about school. Actually, just fed up. Met Ms. D (career guidance) and asked to see her about my idea of doing medicine. She told me to come to her office at break. Told her about my work experience in the Mater, and asked her advice. That was a mistake. She sounded like no one had ever asked her about medicine before. Fumbled through some college brochures and read out the bits I had already read. Waste of space. Friday Had an idea. Went to library and took out Grey ’ s Anatomy, which I discovered is actually a medical book and not just a TV series. Massive book. Got homework out of the way quickly so I could start on it. Saturday Blossom wanted me to go to a party at her place. Her parents were away for the weekend, and she was inviting the whole world over. Like there were going to be 30 or 40 people there. Does she not read the papers ????? Sunday Loads of photos from Blossom—They were packed in like sardines, and if Balbriggan ends up in lockdown we will know where it started. Glad I didn ’ t go. Monday Another week. Double Biology today, so that ’ s something I suppose. Don ’ t normally do doubles in Biology, but its all something to do with having to deep clean the lab and I ’ m not complaining. Means missing out on maths, ye - haw as they say.
Tuesday Same old, same old
Wednesday HA ! Guess who ’ s out self - isolating because her dad looks like he caught you - know - what from her.
